gelato11After some thought, and a date at a certain restraunt- I decided to switch my restraunt to Allaus Coffee & Gelato. Allaus is obviously a well off little gelato & coffee shop off Danforth and Santa Fe with a wonderful atmosphere and great service. After thoroughly enjoying my visit here, I decided to look them up online. Finding they had no website and very little internet presence at all suprised me, and I now see it as fitting that I should take up this place instead of Flat Tire.

Let’s look a little at what other people have said about Allaus.

If you don’t want to read all that, here’s the scoop ( no pun intended!) Allaus serves over 100 flavors of gelato that are made fresh every morning in-store. What is gelato? Gelato is Italy’s version of icea cream. Gelato tastes a bit different from “regular” ice cream in that it has less butterfat, so is less creamy. But that creaminess is made up for by the fact that gelato is much more dense than ice cream, which gives you a much richer taste! Think of it more like a sherbert. They also serve a full range of fresh brewed coffees, cappuccinos, and most other coffee shop typical beverages. The interior has one wonderful wall mural of Italy, and a tiny yet gorgeous chandelier at the front just adds to the rich and elegant feel from the wrought iron table and velvety smooth armchairs that foster a cozy and intimate feel. There’s even an outdoor patio for when it’s warmer!

The main competitor for Allaus is Giovanni’s Gelato on Britton Road, but that is the only other gelato focused restraunt in town. A few other places such as Wedge Pizzeria & Co Co Flow Cafe in OKC offer Gelato, but not as their main attraction.

It wasn’t just the taste of their gelato and coffee that impressed me, it was the whole atmosphere, which is vital to a small niche business like this! I hope to develop a webpage that is as inviting and comfortable as this joint’s own atmosphere, and give them a webpage fitting to their business.
